Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist, specializing in Gynecology
Dr. Gibson has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in Vermont for over 20 years. Her special interests in gynecology include managing complex contraceptive problems, management of hormone therapy for menopause, and diagnosis and management of abnormal pap tests. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Gibson maintains an active teaching role in the Ob/Gyn Department at the University of Vermont College of Medicine where she is regularly awarded the medical student and resident teacher of the year awards. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science and has hospital privileges at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont.
Dr. Gibson did her undergraduate education at the University of Vermont. She holds a BSN in Nursing. After nursing school she went on the complete a nurse practitioner program in Family Planning at the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. Once in clinical practice she decided she wanted to expand her practice and went on to attend the University of Vermont College of Medicine, graduating first in her class in 1985. After completing medical school, Dr. Gibson completed her residency training at the University of Vermont/Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in 1989.
Dr. Gibson is board certified in Ob/Gyn, and has memberships the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP).
When not in the office, Dr Gibson enjoys flower gardening, reading, long walks and spending time outdoors with her dogs and family.
