Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery, specializing in Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Dr. Sisto hails from California and transplanted to Vermont in 2018. Prior to this adventure, she lived all around the country and the world completing her education. She received her BA in Neuroscience from Pitzer College, followed by her Master’s degree in Biological Science at Drexel University. She completed her medical training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio, during which she spent a year abroad in Central America devoted to maternal health education. She then returned to California for her Ob/Gyn residency at the University of California Irvine.
Dr. Sisto completed a two-year minimally invasive gynecology surgery fellowship in 2018 through the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) where she focused on advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Dr. Sisto believes that all patients should have access to the most current and least invasive surgical techniques and procedures. Her training has equipped her with significant expertise in laparoscopic and da Vinci robotic-assisted hysterectomies, myomectomies, advanced surgical treatment of endometriosis, and other pelvic surgeries.
In the office, Dr. Sisto’s areas of special interest include: endometriosis, menstrual dysfunction, fibroids, chronic pelvic pain, bladder pain, basic infertility, and other vaginal and gynecologic concerns. She also focuses on pelvic floor dysfunction offering pelvic floor Botox injections. She advocates strongly for her endometriosis patients, and feels very passionate about helping her patients conquer pelvic pain. When treating endometriosis, Dr. Sisto focuses primarily on excisional methods. Dr. Sisto also works closely with colorectal and urology for advanced treatment of deeply infiltrating endometriosis into the bowel, bladder, or ureter.
Dr. Sisto has received numerous honors and awards recognizing her exceptional surgical skills, leadership and dedication to women’s health, humanism, and excellence in teaching. An enthusiastic and dedicated teacher, and a lifelong learner, Dr. Sisto has also published research related to minimally invasive surgical techniques, vulvar pain, and female genitourinary syndrome of menopause.
Dr. Sisto is Board Certified in Ob/Gyn and is a member of AAGL and ACOG. She has always considered women’s health care her priority, with a focus on under-served communities and global health. She is fluent in medical Spanish.
When not working, Dr. Sisto enjoys cycling, camping, scuba diving, and embroidery.
