AMCB Board Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women’s Health Practitioner, NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner
Rebecca is a Board Certified Women’s Health Practitioner and North American Menopause Society (NAMS) Certified Menopause Practitioner who has been offering compassionate care to women of all ages and backgrounds for almost 25 years. Her areas of expertise include preventive health care, menopausal wellness and hormone therapy, adolescent and young adult women’s health, contraception management, vulvovaginal concerns, and challenges in sexual health. Rebecca performs office procedures such as IUD insertions, vulvar biopsies, endometrial biopsies, and more.
Rebecca received her BA from the University of Vermont with a focus in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies, and completed her MSN and nurse-midwifery education at the Yale School of Nursing. After practicing as a certified nurse-midwife, Rebecca transitioned to focusing on gynecological care. She served as an assistant professor in the nursing department at UVM, teaching courses on women’s health and worked at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England in locations across Vermont. She is a member of NAMS, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Rebecca is passionate about empowering patients to achieve their optimal health from adolescence through menopause and beyond. She speaks Spanish and has experience serving diverse and underserved populations, including work in Latin America. An advocate of holistic health, the completion of a 200-hour yoga teaching certification provides Rebecca with special insight into the role that mindfulness and yoga can have on stress reduction and wellness. Above all, Rebecca values the connections with her patients. Patients often share that Rebecca provides a nurturing presence and creates an environment where they feel safe and heard.
In her free time she loves to run, read, garden, and nordic ski with her labradoodles, as well as enjoy time with her two young adult daughters, family and friends. Once a year, you may find her on a beach in Costa Rica enjoying the therapeutic nature of the sunshine, ocean, and Pura Vida lifestyle!
