Board Eligible Obstetrician Gynecologist, specializing in Gynecology

Dr. Peterkin is thrilled to be a new member of the team! Born in Canada and raised in Virginia, she is excited to return to the North. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering as well as Mathematics from Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and then completed her OB/GYN residency at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her training, she pursued Global Health initiatives in multiple countries of Central America. In addition, she is an enthusiastic teacher and received the Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award during residency.

As a generalist, she provides a broad spectrum of gynecologic care. One of her biggest passions is shared decision-making with patients through counseling and conversation. She is proficient in multiple in-office procedures and is a skillful surgeon with extensive training in both minimally invasive and complex surgeries. She is certified in both laparoscopy and robotic-assisted techniques.

In her downtime, she enjoys her longstanding interests such as movement arts, skiing/snowboarding, and scuba diving. However, she also welcomes new hobbies and adventures. She is an avid believer in lifelong learning in both medicine and pastime activities.
